Overview
The Users page shows the people synced from Google Directory and lets admins manage per-user signature data without changing Google Workspace itself. Use overrides when a signature needs a preferred display name, alternate phone number, pronouns, social links, or a cropped profile photo that differs from the synced directory record.
Directory data vs overrides
Google Directory remains the source of truth for synced user fields, but SignatureHQ can layer local override values on top during previews, employee self-service rendering, and Gmail deployment.
- Synced data — name, email, title, department, phone, OU path, groups, and Google profile photo.
- Override data — values saved from Edit fields, stored per user inside SignatureHQ.
- Render precedence — overrides win first; missing override values fall back to Google Directory.
Editing user fields
Click Edit fields on a user to set signature-specific values. The preset fields cover common signature variables including account/display name, first name, last name, title, phone, mobile, department, location, pronouns, LinkedIn, YouTube, Calendly, and other social links.

User photos can be uploaded from the computer, pasted as a URL, reset back to the synced Google photo, and adjusted with Move X, Move Y, and Zoom controls. These controls affect Profile Card photos and {{photoUrl}} image variables.
- Move X/Y shifts the focal point inside the photo frame.
- Zoom enlarges the image inside the clipped frame so the signature layout does not grow.
- Masks such as circle, square, rounded rectangle, oval, and triangle are configured in Profile Card or Image block controls.
Employee self-edit
Enable Allow employee self-edit when a user should be able to maintain their own editable fields from the My Signature portal. If disabled, the portal remains read-only for that employee.
